Adema is a quintet hailing
from Bakersfield, California. This band comes at you in an aggressive nature, Mark Chavez,
lead vocals, voice can instantly bring the crownd to their feet. Adema is signed to
Artista Records and quickly began recording their self titled album which was released
August 21, 2001. The album was produced by Bill Appleberry and Tobias Miller, in Los
Angeles. The self titled album deals with touchy subjects such as alcoholism on their
single, "Giving In."
"Giving In" is an amazing song that a lot of people can relate to. Chavez admits
that it is a personal song and reflects his life. He was addicted to alcohol and nothing
else seemed to matter after a while. The song ephazises that even though we are indeed
different but in the end, we are all alike all have weaknesses and are pushed to our
limits, then we break. Along with the strength of his vocals in the song are followed with
the amazing guitar chords and drum beats. "I'm about bringing the show back to
rock" -- Mark Chavez. Adema is the band that wants to do all, be able to sound good
on record, as well as live and be a fan based band, making them the most important part of
the group.
Kris Kohls, former drummer of Videodrone, was the last one introduced into the band, he
made Adema complete. The album is full of emotion and passion, Adema's music comes from
the heart. Each song is carefully written, reflecting themselves in each line. Musicians
being true to themselves is hard to find, Adema knows how to relate back to their fans.
Adema has been gaining fans all over, recently performing at the 2001 X-Games in
Philadelphia. This is one band that their live act can follow through their album.
From the first track to the last Adema has confirmed that they have what it takes to stick
around in the music scene for a while. While there's some stardom in Mark Chavez's
blood-line, his half brother is John Davis, lead vocalist of Korn, he nor the band need
his help to rise to the top. Adema can stand on their own feet and deliver powerful songs
that can make crowds move. |
